THE Central STORY

We exist to be the body of Christ on earth

What began in 1909 with 33 charter members has grown into the Central we know today, built through faith, community, and God's provision. And after all these years, our foundation has always stayed the same: Jesus Christ is Lord

WHAT WE BELIEVE

  • ABOUT GOD

There is one God, eternally existing in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and each possesses all of the attributes of God. God is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe and everything in it.

    Matthew 5:16, 46, 6:1, 4, 8, 9; James 1:17, 14:9; Genesis 1:2; John 4:24, 14:

  • ABOUT JESUS

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is one with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the only Savior, who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for all sin, and was raised from the grave after three days to demonstrate His defeat of sin and death. He ascended into heaven and will return again to earth to reign as our powerful King.

    John 1:14; 1 John 4:9; John 3:16, 2 Peter 3:18,

  • ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is one with God the Father and Jesus Christ. Those who accept Christ as their Savior will receive the Holy Spirit to live inside them. The Holy Spirit serves as our comforter, guide, and advocate. The Holy Spirit indwells Christians-providing guidance in living, understanding in Biblical truth, and prayers before the Father.

    John 16:5-15; Acts 1:7-8; Romans 8:26-27, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19;

  • ABOUT THE BIBLE

Our foundation is based firmly upon the Bible as our final authority on Christian beliefs and as a guide to living. The Bible is divinely inspired by God, without error, given to man so that we may know and understand the truth of God and His love.

    Mark 12:36; John 14:26, 16:12-15; Acts 1:16, 1 Corinthians 2:12-13; 2 Timothy 3:14-16; 2 Peter 1:20-21, Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 5:18, 24:35; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12

  • ABOUT SALVATION

Salvation is not something that can be purchased or earned. It is a free gift from God provided by Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and is received through faith. It is available to everyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. That faith is expressed through belief in Jesus Christ, repentance of sin, confession of Christ’s Lordship, and baptism by immersion.

    Matthew 26:28; Romans 5:1-11, 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-10; Hebrew 10:19-22; 1 Peter 1:18, 19; 1 John 1:7; Romans 3:23

  • ABOUT HUMANITY

All people are made in the image of God and were created to live the adventure of following Christ Jesus. Although people have tremendous potential for good, we also have the freedom to do evil. Our disobedience toward God is called “sin” and that separates all humanity from God.

    Genesis 1-3, Acts 4:12; Romans 1-2, 3:23; John 14:6; 1 John 5:11-12

  • ABOUT ETERNITY

People were created to exist forever. Every person will either exist eternally in union with God in heaven through following Jesus Christ or eternally separated from God in hell due to our refusal to follow Him.

    Psalm 16:11, John 14:1-3, Philippians 3:20-21, Revelation 21, Daniel 12:2, Matthew 5:22, Matthew 10:28, Mark 9:44, Luke 16:19-26, 2 Thessalonians 1:9, Revelation 20:9-15

NEW LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS

Baptism

Baptism is a powerful act of faith, symbolizing a believer's identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. At Central Christian, we practice baptism by immersion as a outward sign of an inward transformation and the beginning of a new life in Christ. It's an act of obedience that each person chooses for themselves, following Jesus' example and the teachings of Scripture.

Step into community

MEMBErship

At Central, we believe active involvement in a local church is key to following Christ. If God is leading you to join our family, we'd love for you to become a member. If you've accepted Jesus and been baptized by immersion, let a staff member know and they can point you in the right direction. If you haven't been baptized, we'll guide you through this important step!

Be the hands and feet of Jesus

SERVE

At Central, we believe everyone has been given unique gifts to bless others.

1 Peter 4:10 says "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms."
